ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born on May 22, 1859 in Edinburgh.
He studied at the universities of Stonyhurst and Edinburgh.
From 1882 to 1890 practiced medicine in Southsea (England).
The first of the 68 stories in which Sherlock Holmes appears, "Study in Scarlet" was published in 1887.
He was brilliant in detective stories, and he became a rich person in only five years, so he left the medical profession to dedicate all the time writing.
He died on July 7, 1930 in Crowborough.
All his characters were brilliant, since the creation of Sherlock Holmes, to the characters who accompany him: his friend, Dr. Watson, who is the narrator of the stories, the criminal Professor Moriarty... The author based their creations on a teacher he met at university with good deductive reasoning.

SHERLOCK HOLMES

SHERLOCK HOLMES

Sherlock Holmes is a private detective tall, thin, not very emotional, ironic, witty and intellectually restless. Sometimes he's dirty but he is polite to women. In the daily routine he smokes a pipe, plays an Stradivarius violin very well, an excellent boxer, and an excellent chemical. When he is bored because he doesn't have any intellectual challenges, he use cocaine in a solution of 7%, that worries his mate and friend Watson.

The best characterist of Sherlock Holmes is the use of the reasoning to solve the most intriguing cases. He can arrive the most surprising conclusions and details, thanks to the extraordinary power of concentration.

Sherlock has an older brother, Mycroft Holmes, who has powers of observation and deduction greater than his, but he can't apply their skills to the detective work, and he hasn't got any ambitions and energy.

ASK FOR ADVICE ABOUT RELATIONSHIP

Hi Manolo,
We've been on holiday here in USA for two weeks and I've met a lot of people, for instance, Sara.
She is very happily and gorgeous, and I'm not sure how I feel about her. I need your advice.

I met her on a park yesterday and she talked with me for a while. We were happy together and then we had lunch together. Then said me that he had to met a boy and she ignored me.

I've thinking about that but I don't know what she did with that boy. I'll probably see her later but I'm not sure about her. What do you think?

THE WORLD IS SICK!

REFLECTION: 2ND TERM PORTFOLIO

I think that blogs are good. You can learn a lot!

The activity which improves me a lot, was the recipe, because you had to write, translate, prepare, record, and make a video. This activity was the best. The activity was very funny, but the best thing was that, then you could eat your recipe.
It was difficult but it doesn't matter!

The most difficult activity was WRITING. You had to prepare what do you like to say, who do you say, correct the spelling mistakes and record it.

I think that my last term objectives are to improve my speaking and writing.

The best blog of my class is made by SERGI, because they have all the tags.

WRITING: "AN EMAIL"

Hi John,

I'm writing from USA. The weather was the hottest that I have felt in all my life. We were at 40 degrees!! But all the other was fantastic. We were in the beach most of the days, because the water is very good. However there are sharks!! But they are controlled.

We're driving around the west of USA. Right now we're in Salt Lake City, in Utah. We're visiting the salted lake there, and, the deserts. The only bad experience was that the sun is too hot!!

Tonight we're staying in a hotel in the middle of the desert!! Out of the hotel we're going to be 40 degrees, but inside, we're 20!! I think that the route that we're going to do with a Jeep through the desert will be fine!!
